The production of the Souverän coat is subject to a complex process, because according to a recipe specially developed for Pelikan, a striped piece of material is made from cotton material in many steps, which is bent and then ground to the contour with a diamond. The gold-plated rings on the handle and cap are fitted with the utmost precision before the writing instrument is polished to a high gloss. The slightly springy, typical Pelikan beak clip gives this high-quality writing instrument its unmistakable design. The Souverän M400 piston fountain pen has a 14-carat bicolor gold nib and is available in EF, F, M and B nib widths. The F nib ensures a fine typeface and is particularly suitable for handwriting with smaller curves.
